One organisation. Lots of moving parts.
Focus 4-1 needed more than a brochure website. The project involved thinking through how staff and members would access information and how the organisation could bring practical day-to-day functions into one digital place.
The brief evolved as real operational needs surfaced — including staff rotas, events, meetings, training information and different ways for people to access the platform.
Designed around the real workflow.
I worked across the product idea, structure and implementation rather than treating the app as a purely technical build.
- Mapped the main staff and member journeys.
- Built a web-based app/portal that could be accessed by link as well as saved to a phone.
- Developed admin areas for managing operational information.
- Added features around staff rotas, meetings, training, sessions and events as the requirements developed.
- Worked through hosting and deployment so the system could move from local development to a live environment.
A practical digital home for the organisation.
The result is a working platform designed to bring core information and operational functions together, while remaining flexible enough to keep developing as the organisation's needs change.
Rather than forcing the organisation into a pre-built template, the system was shaped around the way its staff and members actually need to interact with it.
From “could we build this?” to a usable product.
The project moved from an idea and feature list into a live, working digital product. It also created a clearer foundation for future features because the organisation now has one platform that can continue to evolve.
